Surf Hat Collection FAQs - Surf Caps & Bucket Hats

Are your surf hats adjustable in size?
Our bucket hats aren't, but our surf hats and our surf caps are. If you're in Noosa, Byron, or Flinders and you're unsure of sizing, feel free to drop into a store. If not, remember you're protected by a 45 day return policy.
Is the Golden Breed Brand better quality than the G&S Hats?
When it comes to protecting you from the sun, you'll find both the G&S and the Golden Breed caps and hats to be of comparable quality. We tend to get almost no returns of these products from customers.
How should I care for my surf hat?
If you're down at the beach, it's best to rinse it with fresh water once you get home, removing all the salt and sand. Otherwise, follow the care instructions written on the inside of the cap. If you're after the faded look, you can leave it in full sunlight, but of course, this will deteriorate the fabric over time.
Do Golden Breed's surf hats float?
The official answer is no, we don't guarantee buoyancy, but yes, the trucker caps are known to float. You'll often see surfers getting salty in our tee shirts and caps.
Are Golden Breed caps good protection from the harsh sun in Australia?
Yes, our caps offer good UV protection, however our trucker caps have a mesh backing and if you're a little thin in the hair department, it's advisable to choose a different style to keep you safe. 
How does Golden Breed stack up against Rip Curl, Ocean and Earth and other surf brands?
Both of these brands provide quality surf, quick dry headwear that you can wear when in the ocean. They also sell hats online that are just purely for fashion purposes. Golden Breeds range of surf caps & hats is more of a fashion statement while staying sun safe rather than being used as specialty surf gear.
